  Hi, my name is Nancy. I am a decorative artist painting (arting) walls is my passion!

In the early 00’s, LOL that sounds way back! I loved the custom higher (trendy) design looks I was seeing in magazines and now online. I set my thoughts on how to create these trendy design looks without the expense of a decorator, carpenter, wallpaper hanger or any other type of drawn-out, expensive process.

At the time, my life involved raising children (boys), running a household, and spending my 9 to 5’s at a corporate job! I was also, painting murals and large decorative art pieces as a hobby/side hustle. Busy, busy, I did not have the time nor money for expensive wall treatments. Does any of this sound familiar?

I just couldn’t stop thinking about it! How could I  make my home have that cozy, put-together, inviting look like those trendy homes I was seeing in the magazines? I don’t recall what painting project sparked the idea that I should just “paint” one of the styles right on to my wall. I think “river rock” walls were the thing back then. 

As I am telling you this, I can hear the popular 'gram" audio, “Don’t do it, don’t do it, I’m not gonna do it….I did it!” playing in my head! IYKYK

Yes, I did it! I found a way to get the look I wanted in a simple easy way and enjoy that look for as long as I wanted just using a paintbrush. That one inspirational act planted the idea behind Three Painted Owls Art & Design!

Sounds easy peasy, right? Get that business going! It was another 10 years before that idea of “painting” wood, bricks, marble.....and yes, river rocks right on to the wall became a reality. With the encouragement and constant pushing of some lifelong friends and my now grown sons, Three Painted Owls Art & Design launched.
